Long-overdue illustration for Zamweasel's story 'Even Angels Have Scars' - it's currently in progress here: [link]

Kurt wakes up and discovers his new scars - not exactly canon to the story, because I did it secretly without Zam's knowledge ;)

Ouch, those look painful *wince* As always I love your style of illustration and the woods and the leaves blowing in the background add so much to the melancoly feel of the piece.

Wow! I love the colors and the almost bleached look of the trees. For me watercolor is a very tabo medium for me.... I can't work the brushes! >_<

Anyway, if the story is as interesting and as cool as the picture it must be something good to read!

He has such a serene look on his face ... I don't think I'd look like that if I woke up and found all those all over me ...

Beautiful wind effect with the leaves and scarf ... your watercolours always have such a peaceful effect. You're very good with them.

I usually don't care for fan art. Scratch that, I usually abhore fan art- but this is quite a few leaps beyond that. This starts to become comic book as mythology. And I personally do find many comics, the X-Men specifically to be very much like mythology: the turmoil, love triangles, hatred, oppression, fear, triumph, betrayal...They get to a point in which they stop being cartoon characters and enter into legends. Like Superman for instance. He is such a staple of American culture, it's almost like he really existed at some point.

So I really love the feel behind this. And the watercolor rendering is skillfully done. My only complaints are the lines denoted the tree bark. They seem a little arbitrary and don't quite go with the rest of the image.

But otherwise I love it.

NIGHTCRAWLER!!!!
YAY!!!
The only crit on this is that you should have done the pic more dark. The pose of kurt turns very depressive, but the drawing is tooooo colorist....
just this
Cool pic!!
