birds fly up by bluefooted birds fly up by bluefooted
Thanks for all the comments :) I guess I should say, thanks for all the new comments ;) Wow, didn't expect a DD for this, but it's nice to get.

I get asked a lot about how I color pieces. Here's a hint: it looks like paper because it is paper ;) Basically, I color a section of the drawing very roughly, take a scan of a cool piece of paper - graciously provided by RobG from Eatpoo - set it in a new layer, and erase the parts that fall outside the lines. If you set the texture to 'overlay', you can get the colors underneath the show through. So, in this pic, there are 3 different papers used: one for the birds, one for the bush, and a large piece that covers the whole thing. It's really a digital collage more than anything else. Everyone should try it because it's fun and easy. If you have a scanner, you can just scan your own cool handmade papers or anything else really. I feel dumb explaining this stuff because it's so easy it feels a little like cheating ;) Thanks again for all the comments!

Cheers!

birds fly up by ~bluefooted is perfectly blended the way the elements all come together into one image. This is just one of many remarkable images from one of the most creative galleries. ( Suggested by koyamori and Featured by Aeires )

This is Awesome dude, I like how you go about using different paper and scanning it in, pretty original. Haven't heard of doing it that way. It works out amazingly though, adds texture and style!

Wow, turned out I got so inspired that I wrote a cheesy pop lyric/poem after all. I would be honoured if you would like to take a peek at it.

Love his face, it tells a story, he is grounded by the roots and his head is with the birds in the sky. Haha, this comment is starting to sound like a cheesy pop lyric... Your art is an inspiration and it triggers my imagination, (oh jeez, I just can't stop) thank you!
