This just started out as a doodle and got out of hand. I'll probably have thought of a cool title and backstory by the time I've got it colored. Ink on watercolor paper.

This is the second time i've stumbled upon this image. it is beautiful. the detail is painfully beautiful, and I get lost in the repetition of the tree branches. gorgeous.

The use of contour lines is beautiful. I love how every element is on the verge of getting lost in that sea of lines, yet nothing does get lost because the composition is so well-designed. They eye can move around, unconfused, and just enjoy the detail. Wonderful work.

Wonderfully intriguing. I don't find it distracting. I love the expressions... Do they feel remorse for all the birds they've hacked up in their attempt to unriddle the secret of flight?
